Dogs are smart, creative, and opportunistic. They will do anything to please their humans – as long as that means pleasing themselves in the process! Living with the companionship of a canine is one of life’s most enjoyable and meaningful experiences.
But let’s be realistic. In my years of training shelter dogs, I’ve seen what happens when the human/dog relationship goes awry. Most dogs are relinquished to shelters because of behavior problems.
Canine Einstein was formed to educate humans about their dogs, to shed a little light on dog behavior, and to dispel some old myths about how to train a companion dog. It also teaches the human part of this relationship (you!) to see how your own behavior may be affecting what your dog does. Having that kind of knowledge goes a long way in resolving (and preventing) problem behaviors – a necessary skill in a long-term relationship.
Above all else, I want you to have the best possible life with your dog, and that begins by understanding a little about how the canine mind works.
I will only use reward-based training methods, and here’s why: THEY WORK! Not only are they very effective, using them will not compromise your relationship with your dog.
My training methods are based on
sound scientific principles and current behavior psychology. There is no
magic required, and you don’t need to give off a certain ‘energy’ or ‘vibe’ to
be successful.
You will never be asked to shock, choke, hang, prod, ‘pop’, roll, knee, smack, yell at, punch, or use any means of physical force on your dog when you follow my training plans. I hope that this news comes as a relief to you! On the other hand, I will ask that you learn enough about your own dog to be able to manage and perhaps modify what he finds rewarding in his own environment. It’s a simple concept, but not often as easy as it sounds.
